Hey there!
I’m Henry, a software engineer and musician based in New York City.
I am passionate about building beautiful and impactful software. I love the process of understanding user pain points, coming up with a great UX, and creating apps that are a joy to use. I thrive with lots of autonomy, and enjoy the process of taking a project from ideation to completion. I can work in both full-stack roles and in more frontend-focused ones, and pride myself on being a “design capable” developer.
I’m always working on a project. I’m most known for Open IPA, an IPA transcription tool that helped 9,483 people this month learn how to pronounce Latin and French text. Recently, I’ve started working on Serial, an RSS reader for YouTube looking to bring joy and control back to watching videos. I love working on things that drive intententionality, bring people together, or spark joy in someone’s day.
I love learning, and keep up with news in web development and beyond. I keep an eye on the YouTube/Twitter zeitgeist, and am always looking to filter out useful new approaches, libraries, and languages from the noise. I try to follow a wide variety of sources, and regularly investigate anything interesting in my free time.
If you’d like to work together, don’t hesitate to reach out!
